What is Bowl For Kids' Sake?

Bowl for Kids' Sake is a Bowling Party for the community and an important fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region.

Before the Bowling Party: Friends, colleagues and family members form Bowl for Kids' Sake teams, and ask others to sponsor their participation with donations.

At the Bowling Party: Teams enjoy two hours of Bowl for Kids' Sake FUN -- free bowling, refreshments, prizes, team photos, games and give-a-ways!

Every cent raised through Bowl for Kids' Sake is used to provide more local kids with mentoring relationships that are proven to help them succeed in school, avoid harmful behaviors, and reach their full potential.

When is Bowl For Kids Sake held?

Bowl For Kids Sake is held in four different Capital Region locations during the last two weekends in March. Click here for a complete listing of local BKFS dates, times and locations.

Who Participates?

Everyone! Individuals and groups representing companies, schools, professional and civic organizations; your friends and family.

Bowl For Kids Sake is a family-friendly event open to all ages.

How Do I Sign Up? What Else Should I Know?

1. With on-line registration and pledging capabilities, participation in Bowl for Kids' Sake is easier than ever.
2. Choose a date, time, and location for your group to participate. Click here for a complete Bowl for Kids' Sake schedule.
3. Register online or call 862-1250 x21 to register your group. Reserve a date, time, location and the number of lanes you'll need.
4. Reserve one lane for each TEAM of 4-5 people within your group. NOTE: Each TEAM of 4-5 people is asked to raise a minimum of $300 to participate.
5. Once your group is registered, encourage your bowlers to sign up individually under your group name (selected from drop down box). This will enable them to receive online pledges. We'll also send Sponsor Sheets for your bowlers to use.
6. Prior to your scheduled bowling day, Big Brothers Big Sisters will contact you for your team lists.
7. On the day you bowl, turn in your completed sponsor sheets and any collected donations. And please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled bowling time to check in.

Are there Prizes for Participating?

YES!! We truly appreciate your support and offer many prizes for individuals who raise $100 or more.

Sign up as many sponsors as possible. Set a goal. Go for some of the great prizes to be won! Collect your donations up until the day you bowl.

How Do I get People to Sponsor me? (tips for bowlers)

Encourage sponsors to pledge for you on-line at our secure website. Just e-mail this link to friends and colleagues to get your pledges - No collecting necessary!!

We'll also bill any sponsor pledging $10 or more, as requested on your sponsor sheet. Be sure to provide complete address information.

• Ask family, friends and co-workers
• Ask those whose causes you help support (via cookie purchases or other fundraisers)
• Ask professionals or retailers you visit frequently (doctor, banker, cleaners, grocer, etc.)
