Big Brothers Big Sisters' mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships.

Our vision is to provide successful mentoring relationships to all children who need and want them, contributing to brighter futures, better schools and stronger communities for all.

HISTORY

For more than forty years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has provided life-changing friendships and experiences to children of the Capital Region. Today we are proud to be New York State's second largest youth mentoring organization, serving more than 600 children annually.

IMPACT

National research confirms that the positive relationships children have with their Big Brothers and Big Sisters have direct, measurable, and lasting impacts on their lives. The quiet power of the "match" reduces the likelihood of violence, truancy and substance abuse among participating children and youth, and improves their confidence, school performance and relationships.
